Three categories of materials

• silica gel: Long-term application, easy removal, and low cost, but contour feeling and capsular contracture need attention;

• expanded（ePTFE）: It fits well with the tissue and is more natural, but has high requirements for sterility and is relatively complex to remove;

• 自体cartilage（耳/鼻中隔/肋）：无排异、适合nose塑形，可取量有限或增加供区。

How to understand "which is better"

There is no absolute best, only "more suitable." Prosthesis is optional for the dorsal nose, and the tip of the nose is mostly supported by autologous cartilage; short noses and contracture noses may require costal cartilage.
